RED SPOT.  JG

Sinking under water, the oxygen tank let out a stream of bubbles all reflecting the light coming down through the water. One red spot reflecting the buoy above.

Samares Botanical Gardens. JG

BUTTONBOX. JG

Grandma had a box full of buttons.  When we visited, that buttonbox triggered our imaginations; tiddlywinks and counting, stacking and building. Those buttons are not simply toys, each one represents a person; history and personality.

CLIFFPATHS. JG

This is series of painting inspired by my weekly walks around the headlands of my island.
The granite cliffs have a personality of their own and depending on the direction you are facing can be scoured by wind and sea, craggy or smooth, either low lying rocks, or souring monoliths into the sky. The predominately pink, yellow and grey rock face is coloured by centuries of water, lichen and vegetation. Every facet is different and the colours are multitude. No two rocks are the same.
Home to a multitude of birds who populate the deep fissures and rule the cliff faces. Accessible to walkers only by pathways or the intrepid who dare to climb the cliffs, they are usually a gem of tranquility to quieten the soul or inspire the epic with waves crashing below me
